Robert Bernard , Bank of America

Robert Bernard, Bank of America: Bob Bernard is an Information Quality Leader for Bank of America. He has provided internal business and information process consultant services to several fortune 500 financial companies over the last 20 years. His primary focus has been CRM, Information Quality, Management Practices, Metric Design, Quality & Productivity and Business Architecture.

Don Carlson, Bank of America

Mr. Carlson has twenty-six years experience improving business and manufacturing processes. The last six years have been focused on improving data and information processes first for Motorola and now for Bank of America. He has spoken internationally on data processes, data metrics, Six Sigma and supply chain management. His Six Sigma experience began at Motorola in the 1980's. He has successfully utilized Six Sigma methods in multiple organizations and industries.

Brad Darrach, Fallon Community Health Plan

Mr. Darrach is the Information Quality Analyst for the Fallon Healthcare System. He implemented and managed the Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes for the Data Warehouse department for five years. He now represents the entire IT organization as a liaison with the business to improve Information Quality. He has extensive experience in the development, implementation, and testing of large-scale employee benefit plan administration systems for companies including State Street Bank, Fidelity Investments, Boeing, Lockheed-Martin and Hughes Electronics.

Larry P. English, INFORMATION IMPACT International, Inc.

Mr. English is an internationally recognized authority in information and knowledge management and information quality improvement. He has provided consulting and education in more than 28 countries on five continents. He was featured as one of the "21 Voices for the 21st Century" in Quality Progress. DAMA awarded him the 1998 "Individual Achievement Award" for his contributions to the field of information resource management. Mr. English's methodology for information quality improvement-Total Information Quality Management (TIQM®)-has been implemented in several organizations worldwide. He writes the "Plain English on Information Quality" column in the DM Review. Mr. English's widely acclaimed book Improving Data Warehouse and Business Information Quality, is also available in Japanese.

Dave Evans, BT

Mr. Evans has worked for BT in the UK for 17 years. He currently leads a consultancy team specializing in information architecture, metadata, data quality and ETL, providing solutions for internal and external clients. He led on the formulation of, and now manages, an Information Management tools portfolio for BT and has delivered a number of collaborate working solutions. He has previous program management experience, delivering significant components of BT's marketing data warehouse and operator services systems, all delivering major data quality and management benefits. He is also the Chairman of the UK Chapter of DAMA International.

Manfred Goerk, SAP AG

During the last 4 years, Manfred Goerk managed various global re-engineering projects within SAP AG. Since 2001 he is responsible for SAP's global Data Quality initiative. He defined the DQ Framework of tools, people and process and he coaches the virtual team of more than 45 Local Data Quality Managers. Prior to this he was responsible for Sap's R/3 implementation methodology. Manfred also has several years of consulting experience in Logistics as well as in the financial area. He holds a degree in economics.

Martha Gomes, Petrobras

As Demand Integration Manager at Petrobras, Ms. Gomes is one of the Software Engineering Process Group sponsors. She has 25 years work experience with Petrobras having held previous positions as Software Development Manager (2000-2003), Local Network Manager (1992-2000), support and Help Desk Manager (1987-1991) and Software Engineer (1981-1987).

Sarit Higgins, American Re-Insurance

Ms. Higgins is American Re-Insurance's first Data Quality Manager and has written and defined the data quality standards and the Data Quality Manager's Role for the company. She has instituted a Corporate Data Naming Process, developed and implemented a Data Certification Program, and has developed metric reports for various areas within the company. Ms. Higgins has 8.5 years experience working in Quality Management. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA).

Tim Hodges, AT&T Wireless

Mr. Hodges is the Manager for Data Integrity Program at AT&T Wireless Services Data Warehouse Organization. He has six years of data quality/data integrity experience, focused on certification of data for finance and marketing. Tim received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas.

Ron Hyams, University of St. Gallen

Mr. Hyams has held leadership positions in sales and marketing for media, management training and information technology companies. He began work in IQ developing Intranet content management policies for a multinational insurance company and by introducing practices to eliminate information overload for one of Switzerland's largest telecommunications companies. Mr. Hyams developed the thesis topic by combining his professional experience in sales management with his experiences in IQ and document management.

Doug Johnson, Presbyterian Healthcare Services

Mr. Johnson works for a Managed Care Network consisting of a Health Plan, 9 Hospitals, and a Medical group and is a member of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Employing Baldrige quality management principles as they relate to information quality he has lead many quality improvement initiatives while learning to be a database programmer and software developer. Mr. Johnson has been in healthcare for 12 years. As a nurse, he worked in the cardiovascular clinical setting.

Brian Kordelski, Ascential Software

With 16 years experience delivering data quality solutions for leading retail, financial services, and healthcare companies, Brian Kordelski is an expert in the design and development of comprehensive data-centric enterprise data quality solutions. In past roles as Client Services Technical Director, European Technical Sales Manager, and Data Quality Architect/Principal Consultant for Vality Technology, Brian has lead the project teams responsible for major data quality programs globally.

Deanne Larson, AT&T Wireless

Ms. Larson is the Director of Data Services for AT&T Wireless Service. She has 15 years of information management experience. Deanne has focused on creating and implementing award winning processes and practices in the area of data quality; AT&T Wireless won the TDWI Best Practice Award in Data Quality and Stewardship in 2003. She has presented on data quality at various conferences and authored an article for DM Review in November 2003 on data certification. She has an MBA from Florida Atlantic University.

David Loshin, Knowledge Integrity, Inc.

Mr. Loshin is president of Knowledge Integrity, Inc., an innovator of data quality and business rule applications, and is the author of Enterprise Knowledge Management: The Data Quality Approach (Morgan Kaufman, 2001), and Business Intelligence - The Savvy Manager's Guide (Morgan Kaufmann 2003). He has 20 years of software and database experience, has developed a graduate-level course on Data Quality for New York University, and is a columnist and editorial advisor for DM Review magazine and datawarehouse.com.

John Lovelett, MasterCard

Mr. Lovelett is Vice President of Information Products & Services at MasterCard. His team is responsible for the business development and deployment of business intelligence applications for MasterCard employees and customers. They recently added the MasterCard IQ program in order to build corporate wide sponsorship and focus on data quality.

Dave Mills, BT

Dave has worked for BT for 24 years. After various Application Development and Business Analysis roles, he moved into MIS delivery. Since the mid-nineties Dave has had a lead role in Data Warehousing within BT. More recently Dave has led the reorganization of the Business Intelligence capabilities to enable the ever-increasing BI requirements to be designed and delivered in an integrated, cost effective way, providing a "one-BT" view of it's information.

Larissa Moss, Method Focus

Ms. Moss is founder and president of Method Focus Inc., a company specializing in improving the quality of business information systems. She has 25 years of IT experience, mostly in information resource management and data warehousing/business intelligence. She speaks at conferences and seminars around the world on the topics of data warehousing, information quality, project lifecycle methodology, and project management. Her articles are regularly published in DM Review, Teradata Magazine, Cutter IT Journal, and miscellaneous Webzines. She co-authored three books, which are published in Addison Wesley's Information Technology Series: Data Warehouse Project Management, Impossible Data Warehouse Situations, and Business Intelligence Roadmap.

Andres Perez, IRM Consulting Ltd. Co.

Mr. Perez is a Senior Information Management consultant experienced in Data Architecture and Data Management. Using TIQM® principles, he helps organizations with their data architecture and management strategies including management processes, technical architectural direction, implementation, roll out, and migration as well as a Change Management plans. He possesses a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Monterrey, México), 1978. Andres is a well known speaker at DAMA International Conferences and DAMA Chapter meetings, Data Quality, ZIFA and IAA User Conferences.

Tom Redman, Navesink Consulting Group

Dr. Redman is president of Navesink Consulting Group, based in Little Silver, New Jersey. Dr. Redman started Navesink in 1996 to help organizations improve their data and information, thereby improving decision-making, increasing customer satisfaction and lowering cost. Among the first to recognize the need for high-quality data in the Information Age, he established the AT&T Bell Laboratories Data Quality Lab in 1987 and led it until 1995. There he created the Applied Research Program that produced many of today's methods for improving data quality. Dr. Redman is the author of three books, Data Quality: The Field Guide, Data Quality for the Information Age, and Data Quality: Management and Technology.

Robert Rich, Ascential Software

With 25 years experience delivering business applications to the Fortune 2000, Robert Rich is an expert in CRM and marketing analytics applications, especially in the data integration capabilities critical for successful implementation. Prior to Ascential Software, Rich was engagement manager for Syskoplan, a leading systems integration firm working with SAP & Siebel technology. He previously served as a regional product manager at Siebel for marketing and analytics and held executive positions at Internet infrastructure software company Celexis, CRM vendor Xchange and data quality pioneer Vality Technology.

Stuart Roth, Bank of America

Mr. Roth has over 20 years experience supporting Financial Services. He has been a Director of Technology at Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, CSFB, and Morgan Stanley. He has worked extensively on Data Warehouse applications supporting both Retail and Institutional businesses. His current assignment is at Bank of America where he is a Director of Risk Technology.

Coleen Rowley, FBI

Ms. Rowley is a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Minneapolis, MN. Named one of TIME magazine's 2002 Persons of the Year, she was formerly Principal Legal Advisor with oversight of the Freedom of Information, Forfeiture, Victim-Witness and the Community Outreach Programs as well as providing regular legal training to FBI Agents of the Division and some outside police training. She stepped down from this position in April 2003 following an unsuccessful and highly criticized attempt to warn the Director and other administration officials about the dangers of launching the war in Iraq. Prior to being appointed a Special Agent with the FBI in 1981, Coleen graduated with honors from the College of Law at the University of Iowa and passed the Iowa Bar Exam in 1980. She currently speaks publicly on the topic of ethics and ethical decision-making to various groups, ranging from school children and business people to lawyers.

Angela Sakamoto, Choose Technologies

Ms. Sakamoto is Director of Technology with Choose Technologies an IT consulting company. She leads numerous large-scale companies in adopting software engineering process approaches helping them to get ISO certification, CMM assessment, implementing USDP, Business Process Modeling and project office.

Pushpak Sarkar, Merck & Co. Inc.

Mr. Sarkar is Lead Architect - Information Management Services at Merck & Co. He has over 16 years experience in Information Systems (IS) in varied areas- information architecture & quality, information management, data warehousing, IT infrastructure. Prior to joining Merck, he was a senior consultant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers Consulting, specializing in data warehousing/reporting solutions. He has spoken at several leading IT conferences earlier and regularly publishes articles in leading IT magazines.

Eric Schwartz, North Highland Company

Mr. Schwartz is a Senior Manager with The North Highland Company. His eighteen years of experience in design, analysis, coding, project management, support, maintenance, and training span all phases of Data Warehousing projects. He obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in November of 2000 and has taken Six Sigma Green Belt training. He has worked in the telecommunications, consumer packaged goods, airline, manufacturing, health care, utility and financial services sectors.

Lori Silverman, Partners for Progress

Lori is the owner of Partners for Progress, a management consulting firm, and the founder of www.sayitwithastory.com. Her expertise in business strategy, organizational change, and performance improvement has guided organizations in fifteen industries as diverse as petroleum, paper, health care, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, airline, high technology, and government. As a keynote speaker Lori has positively impacted the lives of 1000s of conference participants. She has made guest appearances on over 50 radio and television shows and has co-authored Critical SHIFT: The Future of Quality in Organizational Performance and Stories Trainers Tell: 55 Ready-to-Use Stories to Make Training Stick.

Bob Smucker, Mennonite Mutual Aid

Mr. Smucker is an IT Architect with 20 years of experience as a teacher, programmer, database designer, systems analyst, and consultant. He has noticed that all IT professionals and customers complain about unreliable data, but very few are willing to take the lead to improve it. Always looking for a new challenge, Bob is moving into the IQ field and attempting to help fill this void.

Gary Stutts, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina

Mr. Stutts is a Senior Technical Project Manager on the corporate data warehouse team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. His work in data quality began in 1999 and continues in his current role. He has 22 years of experience in the Information Technology environment, and 20 years in the health care insurance industry. Gary has been a programmer/analyst in both mainframe and distributed systems, managed application programming development staff and projects, workstation and networking technical teams, and data warehousing analysis teams.

Ken Sloan, Synergeist

Mr. Sloan has been active in planning, implementing, and operating large information-intensive systems for over thirty-five years in government, the military, and the private sector; in management roles, project leadership roles, and as a vendor. For the last 16 years he has focused on improving information quality in large multi-national financial institutions. In the fall of 2002 he founded a new company, Synergeist, based in Basel, Switzerland, focused on improving information quality for companies in the Life Sciences industry sector.

Christian Walenta, IBM

Mr. Walenta currently leads the Information Management practices in IBM's 5th biggest business unit with more than $1B in IT spending, the Integrated Supply Chain. He is responsible for consistent deployment of all IM programs and Information Quality across the multiple business functions. Prior to this role, Christian held a variety of professional and management positions with IBM in Germany, the UK and the USA. Relating to Information Management and Information quality he was responsible for development and management of data warehousing systems as well as the introduction of IBM's Information Excellence Program for IBM's Order Status data. He has an MBA in Business Management, and is a certified IBM Executive Project Manager.

Mr. Wernick is a partner in the Chicago office of Querrey & Harrow Ltd. Since 1982, Mr. Wernick's practice has concentrated in information technology law, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and licensing law, with an emphasis on the legal and business needs of the computer and information industries. He provides practical legal advice and strategic counseling to clients in connection with significant transactional and dispute resolution matters in information technology, intellectual property, e-commerce, licensing, computer system acquisitions, and outsourcing.
